- Medicaid Income Trust is required if applicant's monthly gross income exceeds the income limit.
- If an applicant's Gross income is $828 or less per month, the asset limit is $5,000 instead of $2,000
- Community Spouse is a spouse who lives at home or privately pays for independent or assisted living care.
- Community Spouse's income does not affect the eligibility of the applicant.
- MMMIA = Minimum Monthly Maintenance Income Allowance
- MMMIA plus the Excess Shelter Costs cannot exceed $2,739 per month
- Both Husband and wife in the same nursing facility who are both applying for Medicaid benefits
- If combined income is less than $4,044 , an income trust is not required even if the income of the husband or wife individually exceeds $2,022
- If Joint Applicants' combined Gross income is $1,107 or less per month, the asset limit is $6,000 instead of $3,000.
